Construction Project Manager – Canberra

Joss Construction specialise in commercial and industrial projects across NSW, VIC and the ACT. We are on the lookout for the next experienced Project Manager to join our ACT team.
The successful applicant will work closely with the ACT Construction Manager to identify, manage and oversee construction projects, ensuring they are completed in a timely, efficient manner within project budget.
In addition to working in a multidisciplinary, high performing team, you will bring strong experience in Design and Construct projects including GC21 contracts, and deliver accurate commercial reporting for each project you take responsibility for.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster relationships with future clients to develop new tender opportunities
- Analyse project documentation and develop construction methods, materials and quality standards
- Prepare detailed bills of quantities and accurate estimations
- Communicate on project progress and plans
- Work on effective/accurate construction programs and implement variations as required
- Control various projects from tender stage through to completion
- Implement quality, environmental and safety plans across projects, ensuring compliance with project documentation and H&S regulations
- Manage site work and assign tasks, establishing and implementing detailed programs for the coordination of site activities
- Execute projects in a cost and time effective manner
To complement recent construction related experience, the ideal candidate will bring:
- Experience managing projects in the commercial, industrial, defence, health & education sectors
- A sound knowledge of interpreting construction documentation
- A solid understanding of contracts
- An ability to organise and prioritise work whilst maintaining a high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- An ability to meet deadlines and remain focused under pressure
- An ability to offer constructive solutions and improvements.

Senior Site Manager Canberra
Joss Construction in Canberra specialise in commercial and industrial Projects, and we are seeking an experienced hands-on Senior Site Manager to join our team.
Our Canberra office is now recruiting key staff to support an increased workload which includes a new school project that is programmed to be delivered in 2 stages over a period of 2 years.
We’re looking for the ideal candidate to join an established team of local Joss Construction professionals with a combined experience that extends across a large range of challenging projects.
You will be responsible for the successful planning, management and coordination of all site related aspects of projects; ensuring project completion is in accordance with the client’s expectations and in line with Joss’ quality, safety and environmental policies.
The ideal candidate must have:
- experience in organising construction works and delivering quality results safely, on time and within budget across both structure and fit out works.
- the ability to accurately read and interpret plans and specifications
- experience with coordination of trades, subcontractors, construction plant & equipment and materials
- a thorough understanding of programming and proven ability to achieve project deadlines
- an ability to build professional and productive relationships with stakeholders
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of WHS legislation.
With a minimum of 8 years Site Management experience in delivering construction projects, you will offer constructive solutions and improvements and bring sound integrity and accountability skills.
