Ranges Civil Works Stages

The Ranges Civil Works project was critical to maintaining adequate access in and around the working base of Puckapunyal and Graytown. The project involved a range of road and bridge reconstructions, electrical solar upgrades and target system improvements. The project was a Design & Construct which required the replacement of two key base bridges known as the G70 and the main Puckapunyal Range Control Bridge.

Lakeview Branch Canal Expansion

Together with Murrumbidgee Irrigation, the Lake View Branch Canal was refurbished under the Private Irrigators Infrastructure. Joss Construction was commissioned to build on the previous expansion to further meet grower’s water requirements and facilitate further growth in the industry. The key aims of the project was to modernise and replace the high cost deteriorating assets as well as enable greater water flows down the channel to meet increased water requirements of farmers along the system.

TAFE NSW Connected Learning Centres

Joss was awarded TAFE NSW new Connected Learning Centres (CLCs) Corowa, Deniliquin and Narrandera simultaneously. Each CLC was custom designed to utilise modern, digitally-enabled technologies, such as simulations and virtual reality experiences, offering Students a wider range of choices, more accessibility, practical training, and flexible learning with better access to teachers and support services.

Yackandandah Bush Nursing Hospital

Yackandandah Health Stage 01 project was a two staged development extending the existing Yackandandah Bush Nursing Hospital. The works consisted of 10 new self-contained Residential Care apartments and 16 studio style Assisted Living Units offering a quality lifestyle and social connections.

The accommodation is spread over 2 levels and incorporates a lift for resident use. Internal and external finishes are of a high quality as it is critical to the client that their aged care facility creates a safe and homely environment.

Moama Sports Pavillion

The Moama Sports Pavilion project compromised the demolition of the existing function rooms, time keeper’s box, bar, Football and Netball change rooms and the building of a new Sports Function Rooms, Kitchen / Catering Areas, unisex Football and Netball Change Facilities and Suspended Concrete Grandstand.

This purpose built facility represents a significant modernization over the existing facilities whilst ensuring the compliance to the latest AFL change room standards. It also ensures that the function facilities are suitable for a wider range of user groups allowing a greater diversity of clients that the council can use the facilities for.

Department of Defence Health Centre

The construction of the Albury Wodonga Health Centre was part of a nationwide Joint Health Command Garrison Facilities Upgrade Project, providing contemporary, fit-for-purpose health care facilities to Australian Defence Force personnel. The design and construction meets all current Defence policies and Australasian Health Facility Guidelines.

This project involved the construction of a brand-new health facility at South Bandiana and the demolition of the existing facility at Latchford Barracks. The new facility is approximately 2700m2 in total across an almost 11,000m2 site. The facility is a single storey, steel framed, brick veneer construction with typical hospital finishes throughout, built upon a 250mm concrete slab and bored piers. Adjacent to the new building is a new carpark and landscaping.

Myrtleford Indoor Sports Stadium Expansion

Construction of the expansion of the Indoor Sports Stadium at the Myrtleford Showgrounds comprised of constructing a new multi-purpose indoor stadium adjoining the existing stadium via a new entrance lobby. The new stadium is visually appealing and utilised a number of unique architectural and fire rated products. It includes; a multi-sports timber sprung floor; environmentally-friendly all timber frame construction; accessible change room with shower and two ambulant toilets; a new meeting room; and the entry foyer joining the two stadiums.

Alpine Shire Council, Sport & Recreation Victoria, and the Country Basketball League are the custodians of a stunning new facility that will serve the community for many years.

Quest Griffith

Completed in November 2016, the Quest Griffith development comprises 68 fully serviced apartments. Built to specific Quest Service Apartment design guidelines, the apartments comprise  1, 2 and 3 bedrooms over 4 levels including on grade carparking, reception, meeting and conference rooms, gym facility and outdoor BBQ area.

Predominately precast construction, the building features a contemporary cantilevered sandwich panel butterfly roof, balconies and sunshades to provide articulation and aesthetic appeal to the façade.

National Foods Leeton Water Treatment Plant

The project involved both building and civil works to construct a waste water treatment plant for the Leeton juice factory of National Foods. Joss also managed the Process Mechanical installation.

Works consisted of a 1000 m2 concrete bunded area with a combination of concrete and lined steel tanks and a new 150 m2 shed to house the process mechanical equipment in addition to all civil, inground hydraulic and electrical works.

The site was only 2000 m2 and the design utilised every available space, so the method and program were critical in delivering the project on time & below budget.

CSU Bathurst Roundabout & Roadworks

The Design, Development and Construction of a new entrance, Roundabout and roadways for Charles Sturt University’s Bathurst Campus included modifying the main campus entry and associated works to neighbouring roads and properties. The project involved specific civil and site wide infrastructure works including, earthworks and pavement for the roads and roundabout, HV electrical cabling & installation, roadside lighting, new optic fibre links, kerb & channel, footpaths and drainage. Co-ordination with Charles Sturt University staff and students was critical to minimise any impact on the day to day running of the campus which was especially important during the Campus’ Graduation Ceremonies which occurred during the contract period.
