Albury Wodonga Health – Emergency Department Upgrade

The Albury Wodonga Health (AWH) Emergency Department Upgrade is not only one of the most exciting projects to be delivered within the Albury Wodonga region in years but will also be critical in the advancement of the level of health care available to the Albury Wodonga and surrounds catchment area.
AWH is the primary health service provider for Albury/Wodonga and is the regional referral hospital for the Northeast Victoria and Southern NSW catchment population. It delivers medical services including emergency care, elective surgery, aged care, maternity, neonatal, paediatrics, palliative care, mental health, rehabilitation and oncology, and an extensive range of community and ambulatory services. AWH also provides regional mental health services
The redevelopment project will consolidate and significantly expand Emergency Department (ED) services at the Albury hospital and will enable the future relocation of critically inter-dependent acute services to the Albury site.
The key stages of work comprise of:

  • Stage 1 – Construction of a new Emergency Department and discreet Ambulance Zone
  • Stage 2 – Refurbishment of existing ED to provide a 16-bed short stay unit

Due to the disruptive nature of the project a staged construction was tailored to accommodate efficient and minimal disruptive works to the facility. Joss is thrilled to deliver this milestone project for the Albury Wodonga and surrounds community.
