Xavier High School

At first glance the plans for Xavier High School’s new classroom block, trade training centre and study area could give the impression of another traditional classroom facility however, the finished product is a contemporary, eye-catching design filled with natural light and bold colours.

The teaching spaces have soft mushroom stools and couches in informal arrangements in lieu of tables and chairs facing the teacher. Students will use their laptops and iPads rather than look at a whiteboard. Bright orange pin boards line the walls and the combination of vibrant colours, textures and finishes has created a space where students and teachers are naturally drawn to.

The project also included a new Food Technology area, where students are taught cooking skills and a Senior Student Study area.
