St Monica’s New Multipurpose Hall

Value: $3 Million

Location: Wodonga, VIC

With the building footprint situated predominantly on the side of a 25% gradient slope, a combination of suspended timber flooring and concrete raft slab construction techniques were utilised in the construction of the new multipurpose hall at St Monica’s Primary School, Wodonga. The structure consists of a structural steel frame, clad and roofed in a fire-rated insulated panel.  The front facade  comprises cement rendered blockwork, with the lower roof section consisting of a curved Colorbond roof. The Blackbutt timber sports floor is supported by timber floor joists over steel floor members, opening onto a deck overlooking the schools sporting oval. A raised performance stage, accessible by platform lift or ash timber staircase, provides unimpeded views for a large audience.
