Queanbeyan High School

Queanbeyan High School was constructed in 1959 and has had only minor upgrades since then. Joss Construction were awarded the contract for the upgrade and extension of 5 of the campus buildings, as well as the construction of a new basketball court, 2000m2 of hardstand concrete and a new Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA) structure.

The works on the campus were all completed while the school continued to operate.  Joss worked closely with the school and the client’s representatives to reduce the impact on students, staff and the local residential community. 

Careful attention was paid to student/Contractor interaction, noise, dust and delineation of work areas. The works were completed in 2 stages to allow the school to continue to use as much of the campus as possible.
