Joss believes that developing its professional team is critical to the organisation’s ongoing success and future growth. Since 2008, it has successfully operated a Cadet Training Scheme to support this commitment.

The Joss Cadet Scheme supports motivated young individuals with a passion for the construction industry, strong ethics, and a sense of responsibility, by providing a pathway through tertiary education into an exciting career as a professional builder within the progressive construction sector.

The Cadetship runs concurrently with the Cadet completing a Bachelor of Construction Management or Civil Engineering. Cadets will be provided experience within the Submissions, Estimating, and HSEQ, Site Management and Project Management teams along with assignment to construction projects to gain site-based administrative and practical experience.  Cadet Graduates are provided broad opportunities including experience in tender submissions, quantity surveying and estimating, project planning and programming, safety, quality assurance and environmental sustainability, contract administration, and project management.

Joss also recognises the critical role that effective site management plays in the successful delivery of construction projects.

To support this, the Company has introduced a Site Manager Cadet Scheme designed specifically to train and upskill trade-based personnel. This tailored program equips cadets with the essential management tools required for a successful career as a Site Manager. Site Manager Cadets will receive training across a range of key areas, including health and safety, quality and environmental management, communication and conflict resolution, project programming and time management, construction contracts, computer skills, and relevant codes, standards, and practices.
